Terms of Service
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms govern your use of SlideFormat. The short version: use the service lawfully, your presentations and AI output belong to you, credits are one-time top-ups that never expire, and the AI’s output should always be reviewed by you before you present it.
1. Who you are contracting with
SlideFormat (“the service”) is provided and operated by Itemdocks Private Limited, a company registered in India, trading as SlideFormat (“we”, “us”, “our”). When you use the service you enter into a contract with Itemdocks Private Limited — not with any other party. Our registered address is Door no 22/B, Ward-27, 691013, India. You can reach us at support@slideformat.com.
2. Accepting these terms
By accessing or using the service — including browsing it as a visitor — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country; at least 13 where US law applies) to create an account.
3. The service
SlideFormat is an AI presentation generator. You describe a topic (optionally with source documents), an AI pipeline plans, researches, drafts, and composes the slides, and you download a native .pptx file you can edit in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides. What a generation delivers: a deck of composed slides covering your prompt, with layouts, charts, and imagery, plus the downloadable .pptx file and an in-browser preview you can edit before export.
You can explore the editor as a visitor without an account; generating a deck and purchasing credit packs require a free account. The service is in early access: we continuously improve it and may add, change, or remove features (see §13).
4. Accounts
- Provide accurate information, keep your password confidential, and use your own account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Every new account includes 3 free credits. We may adjust signup allowances and visitor limits from time to time.
- You can delete your account at any time — self-service in Settings → Account, or by emailing support@slideformat.com (see the Privacy Notice for what deletion removes).
5. Credits, payment, and the merchant of record
- Generation is metered in credits. 1 credit = $1 (US dollar); a generation draws credits by the AI tokens it uses (500,000 tokens per credit). A deck draws from your balance as the AI works, so the number of slides a credit yields varies with the content — short decks cost less, larger decks cost more.
- Credit packs are one-time top-ups — there are no subscriptions and no recurring charges. Purchased credits are added to your account immediately and never expire while your account is open.
- Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders.
- Your purchase is therefore made from Paddle, which acts as the seller of record: it processes payment, collects applicable sales tax/VAT, issues the invoice, and handles refunds. Your payment details go to Paddle’s checkout and never reach our servers. Paddle’s checkout buyer terms apply to the transaction alongside these terms.
- Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy: within 30 days of a purchase you may request a refund of its unused credits (spent credits are refunded only where the policy says so). Requests go to Paddle at paddle.net, or email support@slideformat.com and we will forward it.
- Credits are personal to your account: non-transferable and not exchangeable for cash, except as required by law.
6. Your content and your responsibilities
You own your content. Your prompts, uploaded documents and images, decks, and the AI-generated output are yours. We claim no ownership over them.
You grant us a limited licence to process your prompts, uploads, and draft content solely to operate the service for you — generating, researching, and rendering your deck. That processing is transient and zero-retention: your content is not stored on our servers, and we do not use it to train AI models. When you delete content in your browser, it is gone; we hold no copy.
You are responsible for the prompts you submit and for the outputs you use. Check that your inputs and your use of the output do not infringe anyone’s rights, and review every generated deck before you rely on it, present it, or publish it — see §7.
7. AI output and accuracy
Generated content is produced by AI models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Review and verify any factual claims before you rely on or present a deck. Similar prompts can produce similar output for different users; do not present AI-generated material as exclusive original research. Images are sourced from public search providers and licence-aware public sources — review their suitability and licensing for your intended use.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to or in a way that:
- is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, defamatory, or harmful — or promotes any of those;
- abuses the service: automated bulk scraping, circumventing rate limits or credit metering, sharing one account to evade limits, or attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the infrastructure;
- probes or reverse engineers the service beyond what applicable law permits;
- resells or redistributes access to the service without our written agreement;
- uploads malicious code, or content that violates third-party rights.
We may moderate, refuse, limit, or remove content that breaches these rules, and may suspend or limit accounts that violate them (see §12). Moderation never obliges us to review content — you remain responsible for what you submit.
9. Intellectual property and takedown
The service, its software, the generation engine, the site design, and the SlideFormat name and brand are owned by Itemdocks Private Limited and its licensors, and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service as intended. You retain ownership of your content and of the output you generate, as set out in §6.
IP complaints. If you believe content generated through the service infringes your rights, email support@slideformat.com with the subject line “IP complaint”, identifying the material, the right you say is infringed, and how to reach you. We will review the report, remove or restrict the material where appropriate, and tell you the outcome. Knowingly false reports may themselves breach these terms.
10. Third-party services
The service relies on third parties — Paddle as merchant of record, AI model providers, and public research and imagery sources. Their own terms and policies govern their services, and we are not responsible for third-party content or availability. See our Privacy Notice for what each receives.
11. No service level; disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee any level of availability, uptime, or performance, and we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI output will be accurate or fit for your particular purpose — that is what §7 asks you to verify. We may interrupt the service for maintenance, and features may change. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
12. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account and personal data (see the Privacy Notice).
- We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, unlawful use, or non-payment, with notice where practicable. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund unused purchased credits or provide a proportionate refund.
- Deleting your account does not remove your right to request a refund of unused credits from a purchase made within the last 30 days — see the Refund Policy.
- Your decks live only in your browser — clearing your browser data removes them.
13. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the product or by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree, you may stop using the service and request a refund of unused purchased credits.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the competent courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction — without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
