Refund Policy
Last updated 25 October 2026
The short version: within 30 days of a purchase, you can get a refund for the unused credits from it. Credits you have already spent on generations are not refunded, except where something went wrong on our side (§3). Refund requests go to Paddle, our merchant of record, or email us and we will pass it on.
1. What can be refunded
- Unused credits, within 30 days. For 30 days from the date of a credit-pack purchase, you can ask for a refund of the unused credits from that purchase. A pack you have not touched is refunded in full; a pack you have partly used is refunded for the part that is left.
- Spent credits are not refundable. Each generation consumes AI processing that we pay for as it runs, so credits already spent on decks are not refunded — except in the cases in §3.
- Which credits count as used. Your balance is spent in a fixed order: free credits first, then purchased credits, oldest purchase first. So the most recent purchase is the last to be used, and a refund of it usually covers most or all of its credits.
- The refund amount is the price you paid for those credits: credits are sold at $1 each, so 12 unused credits refund $12. Free signup credits have no cash value and are not refunded.
- Requests made after the window has closed are handled at Paddle’s discretion, and your statutory rights (§6) always apply.
2. How to request a refund
Through Paddle (fastest)
- Go to paddle.net and use “find my order” with the email address you used at checkout and the order reference from your Paddle receipt.
- Submit the refund request there. Paddle handles it as the seller of record and confirms the outcome with you directly.
By email
- Email support@slideformat.com from your account address, telling us the purchase date and, if you have it, the Paddle order reference. We will forward the request to Paddle and stay on it until it is resolved.
- We may ask for the account email so we can find the matching purchase; we never ask for card details.
3. When we refund in full, used or not
Whether or not the credits were used, and within 30 days or after, we refund (or restore credits) when:
- you were charged twice, or bought the same pack by mistake — a duplicate purchase is refunded in full;
- a payment went through but the credits never reached your account;
- a charge was not authorised by you (report it to Paddle or to us straight away);
- a generation failed because of a fault on our side — the credits it used are restored to your balance.
Paddle may decline a refund where there is evidence of fraud or refund abuse, in line with Paddle’s own buyer terms.
4. What happens when a refund is approved
- Paddle refunds the purchase amount to the original payment method. Depending on your bank or card issuer that can take several business days after Paddle approves it.
- The refunded amount’s credits are removed from your credit balance at 1 credit = $1 — so a $12 refund removes the 12 unused credits it covers. Your balance is never taken below 0, and you are never asked to pay back credits you already used.
- Chargebacks (a payment reversal raised with your card issuer or bank) remove the credited pack’s credits in the same way once the reversal is recorded.
- Removing credits never deletes decks already generated and stored in your browser; it only affects your balance.
5. Who processes the refund
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders.
Because Paddle is the seller of record, it — not us — issues the refund against the original transaction and handles any tax adjustment. We do not receive or store your payment details, so we cannot process a card refund ourselves; our part is to forward requests made by email and to adjust your credit balance once Paddle confirms the refund.
6. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory consumer rights. If the law where you live gives you a right to cancel, a longer cooling-off period, or a remedy for a service that was not delivered as described, that right applies in addition to this policy — contact us and we will honour it. Where a mandatory right is more generous than the 30-day window above, the statutory right prevails.
If a purchase failed to deliver credits to your account, email support@slideformat.com and we will correct the balance or arrange a refund.
